Guided Spring Turkey Hunts
Coastline Guide Service also offers fully guided spring hunts for the Eastern Wild Turkey here in Southeastern Massachusetts. Whether you choose to gun hunt or bowhunt we’ll put you in the game. We have a strong and healthy population of turkeys here and plenty of land on which to pursue them. Our season runs from late April to late May each year.
We will scout prior to find locations holding decent numbers of birds and put our customers in a position to be in the game and hopefully bag a turkey to go home with. In Massachusetts a hunter is allowed two bearded birds in the spring, however you can only take one per day.
This is not typically “big woods” hunting but more of a semi suburban style hunt. We do have decent large tracts of land but mostly we’ll be hunting smaller woodlots and such in pursuit of our quarry. Don’t think that these more “civilized” birds are any easier to bag than their big woods breathren, they are still fully wild and a challenge as are all wild turkeys.
In 2011 we guided six hunters four of whom were successful in bagging their bird. Each hunter was only with us for one day so when that is considered you can see our success rate is pretty darn good.
Current rates for turkey hunts are $350/day.
